Katya Ironworks presents the Precision DRO Mount which allows you to rigidly couple your WR510 DRO to your DW735/X series planer. It is precision CNC machined from billet aircraft grade aluminum, and comes with quality stainlless steel socket hardware. This is a bolt-on upgrade, there are no holes to drill. Once you follow the 30 minute installation and calibration procedure you will be able to consistently hold thicknesses on your planed woods to 0.005" or better in a repeatable manner. This is a precision above and beyond you can achieve with a sticky back ruler.It is impossible to make repeatable precision cuts on a stock DW735 planer by eyeballing the height with the sticky-back ruler it came with, the spring loaded indicator it has or the step-gauge stopper. Your eye cannot distinguish thousandths of an inch, and springs are not repeatable systems. Things flex, the number you read changes with the angle of view, light and shadows, and there is no compensation for backlash. This will waste your expensive hardwoods, costing you time, material, and electricity in unnecessary test cuts.Katya Ironworks developed the rigid mount you need. Precision CNC milled out of billet aluminum and over 6 mm thick, it securely holds onto your machine using six socket bolts. It is so strong it can support the entire weight of the planer. It securely clamps the DRO on its flat milled surface for ultimate precision. You have invested a lot of money in your Dewalt DW735/X. The base kit comes with a topside adapter, a rigid-edge mount, twin bottomside adapters, machined front brackets that hold the DRO ruler firm, machined J-lever bracket that couples DRO display to planer gantry, and all stainless steel hardware. The beautiful engine-turned and precision-flat finish of our kit will add a professional, finished look to your planer, and thanks to precision CNC machined from billet metal in heavy duty milling machines, these parts pull the DRO closer to your planer, reducing the lever-arm effects, and the mount rigidity increases beyond what the DRO is able to measure. The stock WR510 is installed with a spring that holds it in place using tension. Springs are wear items, easily damaged, and not repeatable. You will eliminate this spring and replace it with tank-like solid parts that will outlast your planer. The Wixey finger hook, the backplate, and the side brackets, are also eliminated – the dust that normally sticks between the wedges these parts form will fall out on its own, or easily brushed away. And calibrating the DRO becomes easier with one test cut instead of repeated attempts to line it up with the tray.

CUSTOM MACHINED SOLUTIONS: You can change your mind until machining begins, where we can refund you in full or make something else. Once machining has begun we will have assigned shop resources to you, and have lost the opportunity to accept other contracts, both in irreversible ways. From the moment machining has begun the work may not be stopped, may not be reversed, may not be modified, may not be canceled, and is no longer refundable. Parts machined to your very particular design specifications and cannot be sold to someone else which makes them not refundable. If parts are defective due to our fault we will make that right.
